We originally set out to only use organic oils and wax. We promptly learned that most organic oils plume black smoke and organic wax doesn't exist...

Since most organic oils don't burn well, it's important to choose oils based on how clean they burn instead of how organic they are. We only use premium fragrance oils that are produced without toxins and phthalates. These oils have been refined and tested to burn clean.

Our wax comes from soybeans grown here in the US. It starts out as an oil and is converted to wax. Since the change from liquid to solid is technically a chemical change, the USDA disqualifies it from being organic (even if the original oil is organic). We only use the highest quality, clean burning, paraffin free, 100% Natural Soy Wax. Our wicks are 100% cotton.

Absolutely! We hope you recycle your jars and tins for a variety of uses. Our labels come off easily with soap and warm water. Just pop the wick out, fill the container with boiling water to remove any remaining wax (it will float to the surface), and you've got yourself a great jar or tin to reuse!
